| Figure 2: Full-Genome Scan of an N4 Backcross
Animal
Partial representation of a full-genome scan at backcross
generation N4 (only 14 of 19 autosomes shown). Note that microsatellite
markers flanking the gene of interest (Ifngr1, chromosome
10, 15 cM) are of recipient genetic background (green) indicating
less than 16 cM of surrounding donor genome carry-over (approximately
equivalent to a conventional N7 backcross). Chromosomes 4,
8, and 9 still contain significant amounts of donor strain
DNA (red). Centimorgan positions of microsatellite markers
are according to the Mouse Genome Database (MGD,
The Jackson Laboratory).
