Having trouble submitting data to QPPD?

We have been receiving many submissions with partial data or data that we can’t use. In order to be entered into QPPD, your submission needs to have the following fields completed:

  • Assay type
  • Organism
  • Gene name
  • Primer/probe set
  • PubMed ID
  • Your name

Please email nmccarry@ncifcrf.gov if you have any questions or problems. You may also call us at (301) 846-6578. If you are having any problems using the database, we’d like to know!

Instructions for submitting data to QPPD:

1. Select from SYBR Green or Taqman assays. These are the assays currently in our database. If you want to submit other assays, contact nmccarry@ncifcrf.gov

2. Select organism. Currently Human and Mouse are the only organisms in our database as QPPD is oriented towards cancer research. If you have primer sets from other organisms that you would like to enter, contact nmccarry@ncifcrf.gov

3. It is not necessary to enter data into the Gene Description field.

4. Enter a gene name. We will review the gene name in the Cancer Gene Anatomy Project’s Gene Finder: http://cgap.nci.nih.gov/Genes/GeneFinder to make sure it’s the name they use in their database. Also, the Sequence ID is given in Gene Finder. When users search QPPD for primers for that gene, the search page will recognize alternate names for the gene and direct them to the page with the correct primer set.

5.Enter the forward primer.
Enter the reverse primer.

6. Enter the probe, if the primer type is Taqman. You must include a probe if you selected Taqman as the assay above. If you enter a probe, select the dyes used. If you do not select a dye, we will probably assume that FAM is the reporter dye and TAMARA is the quencher dye.

7. You must include a PubMed ID. If you have not published your research yet and want to enter the primers, contact nmccarry@ncifcrf.gov

8. Enter your name, institution, and email address in case we have any questions when we curate your submission. These fields are for our use only, and the information will not be displayed on the Search Results screen made available to the public. Again, if there is a problem with this, please email nmcarry@ncifcrf.gov
