Sister Chromatid Exchange (SCE)
Evaluation of genomic damage.
Sister Chromatid Exchange (SCE) - is a frequent method of testing for potential DNA damage. SCE involve breakage of both DNA strands, followed by
an exchange of whole DNA duplexes. Two rounds of chromosome replication are allowed to occur in the presence of BrdU. Chromosomes are subsequently stained
with Hoechst dye and Giemsa stain. The exchanges are then counted and statistically analyzed.
