The National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research (NICBR) is a partnership of government agencies with laboratories in Frederick, MD (most on Fort Detrick), including the:

  • Department of Defense/Army
  • National Cancer Institute
  • Department of Homeland Security
  • Department of Agriculture
  • National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Department of Defense/Navy

Because this research coalition makes the NICBR one of the leading scientific centers in the mid-Atlantic area, it presents an excellent opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in regional colleges and universities to find temporary or full-time research positions across a broad range of topics in biological and medical science.

The goal of the NICBR Education and Career Symposium is therefore to provide an introduction to research being performed by the various NICBR partners, through presentations and laboratory tours, and to provide information on training and employment opportunities. The event is sponsored by the NICBR Education and Training Working Group.
