Overview

This radiation research symposium will honor the groundbreaking cancer research and strategic thinking of Dr. Elaine Ron, former Branch Chief and senior investigator of the Radiation Epidemiology Branch of the National Cancer Institute. Experts in the field of radiation and cancer epidemiology will discuss successful strategies for the study of radiation etiology of thyroid and other cancers including pooled epidemiologic studies and the carcinogenic effects of medical, environmental, occupational and accidental radiation exposures. In addition, speakers will identify promising new directions and strategies in radiation epidemiology cancer research. The symposium will also include a talk about translational research in the international community.
