  Implementation

Implementation of the EMS starts with a recognition of the roles and responsibilities by each employee within the scope of the EMS and with training. Everyone receives some form of training from General Awareness to Competency training for those personnel directly involved in activities that a significant environmental impact.

Implementation mostly revolves around achieving and documenting the targets set within each Environmental Management Program, or EMP. The EMS at its bare bones is a mechanism by which the objectives of each EMP are communicated and monitored by both management and personnel.
