How to configure Eudora on a Mac 9.x for emergency emails |

Steps to configure Eudora to notify you when a message is sent from ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov or ens@ncifcrf.gov: Here is a basic screen in Eudora for Mac OS 9 ![]() Step 1. Go to the Window Menu and Select Filters (as seen below) ![]() Step 2. This is the basic Filters screen. Click the New button in the lower left hand corner to begin creation of a filter for the ENS. ![]() Step 3. You will see “Untitled” appear in the left hand column. Click the pull-down triangle immediately below the word Manual on the right hand side of the window. ![]() Step 4. Select From: in the pull-down menu. ![]() Step 5. In the box immediately below From: type ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov. ![]() Step 6. Click the pull-down menu with ignore currently in it. ![]() Step 7. Select “or” in the pull-down menu as shown below. ![]() Step 8. Click the lower pull-down triangle above where it says Last Used: on the right hand side of the window. Choose From: in the pull-down menu. ![]() Step 9. In the box immediately below where you just chose “From:”, type ens@ncifcrf.gov. ![]() Step 10. In the Actions: section of the Filters window, click on the topmost pull-down menu containing “None” ![]() Step 11. Choose Open in the pull-down menu list. ![]() Step 12. After you select Open, you will have two check boxes appear next to it. Put a check in the Message check box. ![]() Step 13. This is what you should have so far. ![]() Step 14. Click on the pull-down menu marked None immediately below the one where you choose Open and choose “Play Sound” ![]() Step 15. In the pull-down menu to the right of Play Sound, choose an alert sound that will alert you sufficiently when an ENS message comes in. ![]() Step 16. After selecting a sound, you have completed the creation of the filter. To save your filter, click on the “close” square in the upper left hand corner of the Filters window. You will be prompted to save your filter. ![]() Step 17. When prompted in the Save changes to “Filters”? window, click the Save button to save your filter. ![]() Congratulations! You have successfully created a filter for ENS email messages. |
