How to configure Eudora (windows) for emergency emails |
|
Instructions for setting up a filter for Emergency Notification Service Emails (Eudora) This is your basic Eudora screen. Proceed to step 1. ![]() Step 1. In the Tools menu, choose Filters. ![]() Step 2. This is your basic Filters screen in Eudora with no filters created. ![]() Step 3. To create a new filter for ENS, click the New button in the lower middle section of the screen. ![]() Step 3a. This will create a filter currently called Untitled (shown below.) Step 4. In the first Header box, use the pull-down arrow to choose From: ![]() Step 5. In the box immediately below the Header: From: selection, type ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov Then in the pull-down box with ignore in it, pull down and select OR ![]() Step 6. In the second Header: pull-down box, select From: Then next to the second contains pull-down box, type ens@ncifcrf.gov. This will ensure that you get the ENS mail in either form it may arrive in. ![]() Step 7. Now, in the Action section, use the top pull-down box with the word "None" in it to select Open. (seen in 7a below) ![]() Step 7a. ![]() Step 8. After selecting Open, 2 check boxes will appear. Put a check in the box next to Message as shown below. This will open the ENS message upon receipt. Step 9. Below is what your filters view should look like so far. If you would like a sound to alert you when an ENS message arrives, select the pull-down box below where you chose Open in the Action section. ![]() Step 10. Choose Play Sound from the list in the pull-down box. Step 11. Click on the small button immediately next to Play Sound selection to select a sound. A dialog box will appear to allow you to browse to a sound file. (see Step 12) Step 12. Browse to and select a sound file. Highlight a sound file and click the Open button. The sound will play after you choose it. Sound files can be found in C:\windows\media for Win '98 and XP and in C:\winnt\media for Windows 2000. You will see the path and name of the file you chose in the space next to Play Sound. Step 13. If you have more than one filter, it may be best to move your new ENS filter to the top of the list. To move the filter, click and hold on the filter and drag it to the top of the list. ![]()
. To save your filters click the small X on the menu bar line. |
