How to configure Outlook on a Mac for emergency emails



Steps to configure Outlook to notify you when a message is sent from ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov or ens@ncifcrf.gov:

• Step 1 make sure that Outlook is open!

• Step 2 click on the “Tools” menu





• Step 3 click on the “Rules” option





• Step 4 The “Rules” Window will open. Click the “Add Rule” button near the bottom left of the “Rules” Window





An empty “Edit Rule” window will appear after you click on the “Add Rule” button





• Step 5 In the box beside “From…” type ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov; ens@ncifcrf.gov.





• Step 6 After entering ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov in the “From…” box, Place a Check in the box next to “Alert with”





• Step 7 Click the “Action…” button next to “Alert with”





• Step 8 The “Alert Actions” box will appear. Put check in the box next to “Notify with this text:”





• Step 9 Type “ENS NOTICE !!!” in the text box below “Notify with this text:” and put a check in the box next to “Play a sound”





• Step 10 Click the “OK” button at the lower right hand part of the “Alert Actions” window





• Step 11 If the “From:ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov” rule is not at the top of the list as shown below, click the Move Up button until it appears at the top of the list in order to prevent rule conflicts with the ENS message rule.





• Step 12 click on the “OK” button at the lower right hand part of the “Rules” window to complete the Rule creation process.





To ensure that you are notified when any ENS message arrives, please repeat all the steps using ens@ncifcrf.gov in place of ens@mail.ncifcrf.gov.
